Campus Crisis

Campus Crisis is an Alternate Reality Game that utilises Augmented Reality to teach sustainability to university students.

Students are invited to investigate an area of the campus that seems… odd… closer examination reveals a hidden message from two students and two lecturers, thirty-years in the future, and it seems that things aren’t going so well…

Leah, Raz and our two lecturers tell their stories through a series of blogs, audio files and videos scattered across the Internet and the university campus.

The students must first develop strategies to change their own lives in response to the need for greater sustainability, and later propose broader change at a regional or even global scale.

Along the way the future-lecturers are creating short videos to help guide today’s students, and all the while they risk losing their jobs and even imprisonment, as they utilise scarce energy to send their footage back in time…

A lecturer from the future tries to help today’s students understand what they need to change today, to preserve tomorrow…

Students become the hero’s of the story, as the changes they make to their own lives and the sustainable projects that they devise, will make or break the future…
